Grain, Dairy and Refined Sugar Free Mini Apple and Blackberry Crumbles

These Grain, Dairy and Refined Sugar Free Mini Apple and Blackberry Crumbles are delicious for dessert or even breakfast and are absolutely perfect for this time of year. After all, who doesn’t love it when their house smells of warm apples and cinnamon?!

Ingredients

  • 3 eating apples (peeled and cut into 1cm dice)
  • Small handful blackberries
  • 65 g (½ cup) macadamias*
  • 50 g (½ cup) ground almonds (almond flour)
  • 20 g (¼ cup) flaked almonds
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (or butter, melted)
  • tablespoons maple syrup
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 180°C/350F.
  • Divide the apples and blackberries between four small ramekins and place in the oven for ten minutes.
  • Place the macadamias into a food processor and pulse four or five times until mostly finely ground but with some chunks remaining.
  • Mix everything from the macadamias to the pinch of salt together.
  • After 10 minutes, remove the apples from the oven and reduce the temperature to 140°C/280F.
  • Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples and return to the oven for a further 40 minutes until golden brown.
  • Gorgeous served on its own or with yogurt or ice cream.

Notes

*If you have no macadamias in then replace with another ½ cup of ground almonds.
